Common questions

Can't find your answer? Ask the chat in the corner. It knows the documents, salaries and interviews.

Do I have to pay to apply for a job?

No. Every listing is free to read, and every Apply button takes you to the cruise line's own careers page, where applying is free. Cruise lines and their authorised partners never charge a recruitment fee.

Where do the jobs come from?

From the cruise lines' own public careers pages: Carnival, P&O Cruises and Cunard, Royal Caribbean, MSC and Explora, Princess, Holland America and Seabourn, Norwegian, Oceania and Regent, Disney, Viking, AIDA and Costa. World Cruise Jobs is independent and is not affiliated with any of them.

What do I pay for, then?

Help, never jobs. Checking your resume and seeing your matches are free. Wallet credits (1 credit = ₹1) pay for the tool you need, each open for 7 days: the resume builder (100 credits), Meera's AI help with application forms (150 credits) or the document checker (200 credits) or a question to an expert (20 credits). The Crew Pass, ₹2,000 for 30 days, makes all of it unlimited and adds questions plus 2 1-on-1 video sessions.

Does the resume checker send my CV anywhere?

No. Your file is read and scored inside your browser. Only the result (role, score, years and which certificates were found) is sent, to find jobs that fit.

Which documents do cruise lines ask for?

A passport with 18+ months of validity, STCW Basic Safety Training, a seafarer medical, and for US-based ships a C1/D visa. Indian crew also need a CDC and an INDoS number. The Purser (bottom right) can explain each one.

Why is my score so low?

Because the checker grades like a cruise recruiter: no STCW, no numbers in your bullets, or too few years for the rank will each cost you. A resume that clears those bars scores high. The Fixes tab tells you exactly what to change.

What does 'Opening soon' or 'Hiring year-round' mean?

'Opening soon' means the cruise line lists the position but isn't taking applications yet; get your resume ready in the meantime. 'Hiring year-round' means the line keeps that position open for applications all the time (Royal Caribbean works this way), so you can apply whenever your resume is ready.
